Auto oiling Shredder

The system ensures the blades are always lubricated at the right level without any action required from the user. Some models dispense oil on every shredding cycle, while others trigger oiling based on accumulated run time as tracked by the machine's internal counter.

For day-to-day blade lubrication, no — the auto oiling system handles this automatically. However, the oil reservoir itself needs to be checked and refilled periodically when the oil level runs low. Most auto oiling shredders have a visible oil level indicator or a low-oil warning light so you know when a top-up is needed. Refilling the reservoir is straightforward — simply pour compatible shredder oil into the tank. The frequency of refilling depends on how heavily the machine is used, but for a busy office shredder it is typically every few weeks to a month.

Always use dedicated shredder oil to refill the reservoir — never substitute with WD-40, cooking oil, or any general-purpose lubricant. The auto oiling mechanism is calibrated to dispense a specific viscosity of oil, and using the wrong product can clog the dispensing nozzle, damage the pump mechanism, or contaminate the cutting head.
