The INTIMUS 8000 uses a 10,000 Gauss (1 Tesla) magnetic field to erase hard disk drives and data tape media in as little as 8 seconds per cycle — permanent, non-recoverable data destruction without physically opening the drive.
At 15kg it is the lightest and most economical degausser in the Intimus range, suited to IT departments and asset disposal firms handling routine drive volumes rather than the highest classified-material throughput.
