IDEAL is a German document shredder brand manufactured by Krug & Priester GmbH & Co. KG — founded on 1 July 1951 in Balingen, Germany by Wilhelm Krug and Ludwig Priester. By 1998, the company had grown into the world's leading manufacturer of document shredders and office cutting machines. Every IDEAL machine is still developed and built at the Balingen headquarters, with close to 90% of manufacturing kept in-house — the company's own standard of "Made in Balingen."
